Plymouth enterprise for
all in words
"I have been really pleased
with the day; it’s been the first time in two years that my areas of
frustration and issues have been aired. How can we drive this forward?"
"In the four events what makes me feel somewhat emotional is that there
have always been some wiser heads saying that roughly 10 years ago we were
involved in a process – the way we have talked today – essential truths
are coming back onto the flip charts. We did not tackle the issues. The
people who were meant to be helping in their poverty have simply learned
to cope. We should be upset if we are colluding to make this happen again
in our deprived wards"
"I have enjoyed the day this is a missing element of a lot of events. We
should take away a commitment to have an element of open space in all our
future conferences"
"It has been a really good day in terms of participation, although at the
beginning of the day I wondered how it was all going to work. But it has
worked really well. I do wonder how the four events will be analysed and
the themes from all the events captured"
"I have really enjoyed the day, I have never been to anything like this
before, it’s been really nice to go from group to group and be treated as
if I am responsible enough to do this, to choose for myself. I have
enjoyed the enthusiasm of the day"
"Good day I have learned a lot, it has made me think – most important it
reminded me of our common ground – Plymouth"
"I thoroughly enjoyed today, I didn’t feel guilty about leaving to go to a
meeting and felt I could come back. I loved the style; there will be good
work coming out of these days"
"The day has gone very quickly I have lots of new information and know a
lot about Plymouth, competing for business, what there needs to be more
of"
"There is a lot that could be taken on locally not just higher up in
Government and the Treasury"
"I have enjoyed the style of the day and how the notes were captured but I
want to know what happens from here, who is responsible"
"Issues affecting Plymouth and political decisions need to be taken higher
up as well as locally"
"I would like to thank Andrew I heard him speak two years ago and this was
the start of this conference. I like that we are taking the proceedings
away"
"It was good to have the opportunity to get away from the usual; we are
listening to each other. I liked the first names only and no job titles it
gave us the freedom to say things we wouldn’t normally say. Things that we
have said for years and things we haven’t said for years, it was good to
be yourself"
"I never come to things like this but I have been immensely impressed with
the calibre and commitment. Especially discussions about the hardest to
help"
"Good day energising – I want to see what comes from this how do we move
into action"
"There are people who I think should have been here and aren’t and that is
disappointing"
"There were common themes through all the groups. What can we do to keep
it up?"
"All this self-organising is so wonderful how do we keep it going?"
"As an outsider I have learnt a great deal about Plymouth today, people
were very helpful with information and I thought the smaller groups were
just as valuable as the larger ones"
"I have felt very optimistic about the energy today, Government needs to
change now"
"After today I want to go away and make things happen"
"Thanks to members of the local planning group, for all the background
work and for helping us enjoy this day. I have to say that I got
everything I wanted from today. But some people were not here; key
decision makers would have made it even better. We need to take things
forward through 2020"
"Enjoyable day, I got a lot out of it, networking, seeing people I don’t
normally see"
"We spent a lot of time talking about positive things. I was pleased at
how many people stayed for the whole day"
